Les collections ont été complétées par Guillaume et surtout par Gustave Lennier. Le musée, détruit en partie durant la Deuxième Guerre mondiale, a ouvert ses portes à nouveau en 1973 avec des collections reconstituées. Ses atouts incluent : Collection de Charles-Alexandre Lesueur.
