Lettre d'Anne Ferrand (mère d'Ida Ferrier) à Adolphe Lacan, l'avocat de sa fille. Il est question dans la lettre du divorce de Dumas et de sa femme Ida Ferrier (séparation de biens, séparation de corps) et de l'hypothèque légale sur sa maison de Monte-Cristo. 'Depuis Naples où elle s'est installée, pour des raisons de santé, Ida demande justice par l'intermédiaire de son maître Adolphe Lacan, son avocat, et le 30 décembre 1847, elle introduit une demande de séparation de biens. Le 10 février 1848, le tribunal de la Seine prononce la séparation de biens des époux Dumas, aux torts du mari qu'elle condamne à restituer la dot de 120 000 f et à servir la pension de 6 000 f garantie par une hypothèse légale. Dumas fait appel. Ida institue sa mère, Anne Ferrand, mandataire générale et spéciale pour engager les poursuites nécessaires. Le 5 août 1848, la cour d'appel confirme le jugement du tribunal civil. Lors de la faillite du Théâtre Historique, Anne Ferrand s'oppose au concordat intervenu, en décembre 1852 entre Dumas et ses créanciers.
