Description
Cette fibule se distingue par ses dimensions inhabituelles et son agencement ornemental sophistiqué, caractérisé par l'assemblage de 2 niveaux richement émaillés reliés par 4 colonnettes de section quadrangulaire. Le plateau inférieur comporte 8 disques dont la surface est partagée en 2 cercles concentriques garnis d'émail bleu et rouge, rehaussé d'un point central jaune. Sur le pourtour externe, chaque disque est accosté d'une pastille, dont la couleur a disparu. Cette composition est accolée à une couronne où alternent des logettes émaillées bleues et rouges. Celle-ci est reliée au centre par 4 tiges sécantes se regroupant au centre sur une plaquette carrée. Le disque supérieur, bordé de 8 protubérances circulaires incrustées d'émail bleu, est orné de logettes rayonnantes émaillées, de type millefiori, et surmonté d'un cône central facetté, émaillé de bleu.##En raison de la complexité morphologique et de la fantaisie créatrice de l'artisan antique, cette fibule peut être considérée comme un unicum.#Extrêmement répandues dans l'est de la Gaule, en Suisse et en Rhénanie, les fibules complexes émaillées sont traditionnellement datées de la 2e moitié du 2e siècle ap.JC. Cet objet, découvert en contexte cultuel, n'a vraisemblablement jamais été porté comme bijou, mais confectionné en tant qu'offrande votive.
