Description
Argent, bronze ciselé et doré, bois noirci et verre ; Une plaque en argent fondu et ciselé représente une remise de chevreuils regroupant un chevreuil, deux biches et un brocard. La composition s'organise autour du groupe central de chênes planté sur un talus enherbé. le paysage arboré, où se mêlent feuillus et résineux au milieu de rochers, évoque la forêt vosgienne. Une ouverture sur le côté droit de la scène dévoile un lointain montagneux. Une vieille souche aux racines tentaculaires et des touffes d'herbe en fines feuilles d'argent découpées et rapportées ajoutent la touche pittoresque et vériste de Jacques F. Kirstein. Un élégant cadre rectangulaire en bois noirci, rehaussé de bronzes dorés en applique, sert d'écrin au haut-relief qui y est maintenu par un cerclage en bronze doré mouluré de frises de perles et de palmettes. Ce cerclage ovale est inséré dans un rectangle délimité par une frise de perles en bronze doré. Palmettes et rinceaux feuillagés prennent place dans les écoinçons ainsi formés. Le verre plat de protection est maintenu en retrait de la doucine extérieure du cadre par une plate-bande en bronze doré à frise de palmettes, rehaussée aux quatre angles par une rosette en argent. Bois noirci et bronze doré ajoutent encore en raffinement aux tableaux en argent fondu. Un tableau en relief similaire est conservé dans les collections du Mobilier National (CMLC 1175)
