Description
Argent, métal doré, métal noirci, bois, verre ; Dans un cadre en poirier teinté façon noyer foncé est enchâssé au creux d'une gorge de format circulaire, un haut-relief en argent fondu épousant ce même format. Le relief est serti d'un double cerclage: l'un en argent avec frises de perles, l'autre en métal doré avec frise de palmettes. L'ensemble est protégé par un verre plat fixé à la surface du cadre par un cerclage en métal noirci à frise de perles et de rais-de-coeur. La scène représente le brame du cerf. L'animal solitaire est posté devant un vieux chêne brisé. le fin travail de ciselure confine à la virtuosité dans le rendu du pelage du cervidé, de l'écorcé du chêne et de la végétation couvrant le talus en herbé qui est agrémenté, selon le procédé cher à l'artiste, d'une touffe d'herbe en feuille d'argent découpée et rapportée. Le traitement très élaboré du relief est mis en valeur par le fond uni sur lequel il se détache.
