Situé à Cassis, le musée municipal d’arts et traditions populaires fait partie du réseau des musées de France dans le Bouches-du-Rhône.
Quelques éléments historiques : En 1910, Marin Guindon (1831-1918) et sa femme Eugénie, deux peintres marseillais du XIXe siècle, offrent au village de Cassis (2.500 habitants), un fonds de peintures réalisées par eux-mêmes ou par d'autres artistes.
La même année, la veuve du peintre Raphaël Ponson fait également une donation au musée. En 1911, avant de disparaître, Félix Ziem demande à sa femme d'offrir au musée deux vues de Venise. Depuis cette collection n'a cessé de s'enrichir.

Archéologie : poteries, amphores, tegulae (tuiles), bijoux, monnaies sont les marques de l'occupation antique, depuis l'époque celtoligure, puis romaine, jusqu'au haut moyen âge. Les objets présentés ont été découverts au cours de fouilles effectuées à Cassis.
Ethnographie : costumes provençaux traditionnels, outils liés aux métiers de la mer et de la pêche en Méditerranée, maquettes navales anciennes, statues, objets et mobilier de la vie quotidienne à Cassis. L'intérêt du musée réside dans : Ancien Presbytère construit en 1703-1704.
