Description
Il s'agit d'une lithographie issue d'un ouvrage de propagande intitulé 'Vues des établissements missionnaires des Frères-Unis' et publié dans les années 1840 par la société bâloise d'Amis de l'Evangile. Cette dernière souhaitait ainsi susciter des vocations de missionnaires et favoriser le développement de la Communauté évangélique des Frères unis, installée (vers 1760) dans l'île d'Antigua, au nord de la Guadeloupe, afin de christianiser les esclaves et d' instruire religieusement les Noirs.
