Description
Instrument en bois, dont sapin, décor laqué et doré. Viole d'Amour à huit cordes : 3 cordes fines en métal, 1 corde en métal, 4 en boyau. Caisse forme viole à fond plat et à éclisses à bandes alternées rouge/doré. Deux ouïes en flammes. Décor peint. Sur la table, décor d'armoiries et de guirlandes de lairiers sur la face. Armoiries (probablement ajoutées au début du XIXème siècle, peut-être à l'époque de l'émigration) écartelées au 1 et 4 de Bretagne et au 2 et 3 de Brosse. Sur le tout : Penthièvre. Couronne et manteau de duc. Il s'agit d'une de Brosse dit de Bretagne-Penthièvre (note de M. Tricou). D'hermine, écartelé de sable, à trois gerbes d'or liées de gueules. Sur le tout : d'hermine à la bordure de gueules. Sur le dos, décor doré: char d'Apollon au centre d'une gloire, amours, flambeaux, colombes, rinceaux, devise des Princes de Galles: "Ich dien", attributs aux trois plumes. Un M en médaillon surmonté d'une couronne ducale et la devise des Princes de Galles ICH DIEN ("je sers"). Dans la partie inférieure : Orphée sur un socle accosté d'amours au corps se terminant en rinceaux feuillagés. Prince de Galles à identifier.
