Description
Vierge ouvrante triptyque du type de la Passion avec meuble support. Copie de la statue polychrome de Notre-Dame de Quelven du 14e siècle ; Cette sculpture est l'oeuvre d'un sculpteur vannetais, Joseph Le Lait, habitant rue des Vierges. Cette oeuvre, d'une scrupuleuse exactitude, exécutée en 1908 sur le moulage de la statue, fait grand honneur à notre compatriote. Elle lui demanda 100 jours de travail. L'artiste utilisa une membrure en bois de teck d'un navire perdu près de Belle-Ile. M. Le Lait a gracieusement offert de remplacer de sceptre de la Vierge qui avait été perdu, ce dont la Société le remercie vivement (BSPM, 1920-1921, p.78-79 et 82).
