Description
Porcelaine, décor bleu et blanc, bande médiane en couverte brune (zijin you 紫金釉) et céladon ; Vase rouleau. Chine, Jingdezhen, dynastie Qing, époque Kangxi (1662-1722). Porcelaine, décor bleu et blanc, bande médiane en couverte brune(zijin you 紫金釉) et céladon. Comme en témoigne son étiquette, ce vase a appartenu au collectionneur Octave du Sartel. Après une très brève carrière dans la marine, Octave Frémin du Sartel (1828-1894), plus connu sous son nom de plume d’Octave du Sartel, se passionne pour les porcelaines chinoises. Il expose sa collection pour la première fois lors de l’Exposition Universelle de 1878. Il la publie en 1881 dans ce qui est la première monographie consacrée en France à la porcelaine chinoise. Un an seulement après cette luxueuse édition, Du Sartel disperse une partie de sa collection lors d’une vente événement à l’Hôtel Drouot. Collectionneurs, marchands et musées se pressent d’acquérir les œuvres qui avaient fourni la matière au savant travail du collectionneur. (Catherine Tran, 2023)
