Description
Grand vase en forme de balustre, avec frise à la base et au col, et deux mascarons à la panse. (description Lansyer) sans fond Ce vase balustre dépourvu de base présente un petit pied, une épaule globulaire et légèrement anguleuse et un col imposant largement évasé. Le pied et le col comportent deux registres décoratifs couverts de motifs archaïsants en faible relief sur fond de spirales leiwen, dont deux masques taotie sur le col, figure de glouton dépourvu de mâchoire inférieure caractéristique du décor des bronzes archaïques des dynasties Shang et Zhou (1570-1045 av. N.-E.) et Zhou (1045-256 av. N.-E.). Deux têtes de lions bouddhiques en haut relief sont disposées symétriquement de chaque côté de l’épaule en guise d’anses. Juste au-dessus du pied à la naissance de la panse a été gravée en plein une inscription apocryphe du règne de Xuande (1425-35). La pièce présente une patine brun foncé.
