Description
Ce vase de belle facture présente un pied évasé, une panse globulaire se resserrant brusquement sur un col étroit et long se terminant par une lèvre évasée au rebord rentrant. Le pied et le col sont ornés de registres représentant en bas-relief des motifs archaïsants, dont des masques de taotie, masque de glouton dépourvu de mâchoire inférieure que l’on trouve sur les vases rituels des dynasties Shang et Zhou. Deux anses en arc-de-cercle en forme de têtes de dragon à la crinière imposante sont disposées symétriquement de chaque côté du col. Le bronze a une légère patine brune et ne comporte aucune inscription ou marque. Il n’est pas impossible que ce vase ait arboré à l’origine des anneaux au niveau des anses ou fait partie d’une paire.
