Description

Vase présentant un grand pied évasé se resserrant en partie supérieure, une épaule légèrement pansue et un col court de diamètre moyen. Il présente deux anses en forme de têtes de créatures mythologiques stylisées en ronde-bosse disposées symétriquement au niveau de la partie supérieure du pied. Ces anses indiquent le sens de lecture du vase. La pièce est presqu’entièrement couverte de motifs archaïsants en bas-relief disposés en registres. On observe une frise de grecques, de lignes diagonales et de motifs géométriques évoquant vagues ou nuages sur le pied. L’épaule présente une frise de doubles spirales entre des motifs de cordages en relief et des registres en pendeloques contenant des volutes en bas-relief. Le col est souligné d’une frise de grecques évoquant les spirales carrées (leiwen) des vases antiques chinois.
