Description
Le corps, très flexible, est constitué d'un fil carré tors irrégulier dont les faces granuleuses comportent des fissures d'écrouissage. Il est enfoncé et soudé à l'alliage dans un long cylindre fait d'une épaisse feuille dont le joint longitudinal a été effacé par un brunissage intensif. Une extrémité de ce tube sert de tenon et comporte deux petits orifices diamétralement opposés permettant le passage d'une goupille. L'autre extrémité, constituant le manchon proprement dit, comporte un décor de deux demi-bagues, de taille décroissante, soudées sur sa face supérieure. Chaque demi-bague, réalisée par fonte à cire perdue, est constituée de six groupes de quatre protubérances oblongues, creuses ou pleines, ressemblant à des bourgeons. Une bague, enfilée et soudée sur le manchon, entourée d'un décor de bourgeons et de deux billes oblongues massives, forme le tampon.
