Description
Description des éléments : Le long corps cylindrique de ce tambour présente un rétrécissement tronconique à sa base avant de s'évaser à nouveau en un petit piétement également tronconique. Le bois est recouvert d'une belle patine d'usage sombre et brillante. Le tiers supérieur est incisé de plusieurs types de motifs géométriques (losanges guillochés, triangles) inscrits en panneaux verticaux que délimitent deux séries de stries horizontales gravées sur le pourtour du fût. Une main stylisée, les doigts disposés vers le bas, est taillée en relief sur l'un des panneaux. Une ceinture de peau entoure le rebord du fût, au dessus de la série de stries horizontales qui délimitent l'espace supérieur réservé aux motifs. Le bord inférieur de cette ceinture est fixé sur le tambour à l'aide d'un grand nombre de chevilles de bois disposées les unes à côté des autres sur toute la circonférence du corps cylindrique tandis que le bord supérieur est percé de nombreux petits trous dans lesquels passe une fibre végétale qui relie cette bande à la peau (probablement d'antilope) recouvrant la bouche du tambour.
