Description
Boîte vitrée avec cadre en bois doré couverte de papier dominoté. Scène de la Nativité. La partie supérieure est ornée d'un papier peint représentant le pont de la Charité-sur-Loire avec le fleuve et quelques bâtiments de la ville. Au centre, dans un environement rocheux couvert de fritte de verre, de mousse et de fleurs d'émail, la grotte de la Nativité. Près du berceau de l'Enfant Jésus, la Vierge agenouillée, Saint Joseph, une fileuse, un berger, le boeuf et l'âne. Sur les côté, une laitière, des bergers et une bergère. Dans la partie haute, un saint et une femme assis sur les rochers. Au dessus de la crèche, un ange déroule un phylactère sur lequel est inscrit : Gloria in Excelsis Deo. L'ensemble de la composition foisonne d'animaux : lions jaunes, moutons, chien, cerfs, licornes et oiseaux.
