Description
Reproduction d'un cliché de résinier sur un 'pitey' faisant une 'care', prise en octobre 1890 Le 'pitey' est une sorte d'échelle de perroquet utilisé pour monter à une hauteur d'environ 2,50 - 3 mètres contre le pin. Cela permet de faire une saignée ou 'care' afin de récupérer la résine ou 'gemme' en gascon. Le résinier, appelé gemmeur en gascon, se sert du 'hapchot', sorte de hache à lame recourbée, pour entailler l'arbre et lancer l'écoulement de la résine. Un second résinier entaille une 'care' plus basse, sur un autre pin.
