Description
Projet au format d'une assiette octogonale du service "rouge et or". Un homme en costume de noble, coiffé du Yé-bo-shi et tenant un parapluie, debout regardant l'eau. A l'aile, trois fleurs de lotus fermées alternent avec trois cartouches en forme de feuille contenant un ou deux canards. Il s'agit du ministre O-No To-Fu, un des trois grands experts en calligraphie du Xème siècle au Japon, recevant une leçon de persévérance de la part d'une petite grenouille qui arrive, après sept tentatives infructueuses, à happer une feuille de saule. L'iconographie est tirée du livre 10 et du livre 1 de la mangwa de Hokusai Katsushika.
