Cette pièce a pour sujet : portrait d'inconnu (homme, clergé, en buste, de trois-quarts). Cette réalisation date de la 4e quart 17e siècle. Précisions sur cette oeuvre : né à Madrid en 1642 ; mort à Madrid en 1693 ; fils d'un bronzier portugais, établi à Madrid et formé par Francisco Rizi, il est le continuateur de son style baroque passionné, conservant malgré tout un goût pour la réalité concrète qui donne à ses compositions un équilibre et une précision considérables. Une grande partie de son oeuvre, de caractère religieux, s'inscrit parmi les plus heureuses réussites du baroque le plus typique (Saint Augustin, 1664, musée du Prado ; Annonciation, 1668, église San Placido, Madrid). En 1685, il est nommé peintre de la Chambre du Roi et réalise l'année suivante son oeuvre la plus importante , l'Adoration de la sainte Forme, pour la sacristie de l'Escorial, où le souci de l'espace rappelle le Tintoret et Velasquez. Il a également pratiqué la peinture murale, caractérisée par des architectures en trompe-l'oeil, souvent en collaboration avec Jimenez Donoso et Sebastian Munoz.
