tirage albuminé d'après négatif sur plaque de verre au collodion. Procédé inventé par Frederick Scott Archer en 1851. Il sera utilisé jusqu'en 1885, où il sera remplacé par l'émulsion à la gélatine. Le collodion est un liquide sirupeux et opalescent qui provient de la dissolution du 'coton poudre' dans une solution d'alcool et d'éther ('coton poudre' découvert en 1846 : puissant explosif obtenu par l'action de l'acide azotique sur le coton)
