Description
Aucune analyse micrographique du bois n'a été réalisée permettant de l'identifier. On observe que le bois est de couleur plutôt clair faisant penser à du ficus sycomore. (Laure de Guiran, restauration décembre 2017). ; "Petite statuette représentent l'âme du défunt sous la forme d'un oiseau (hirondelle) à tête humaine dressé sur un socle rectangulaire. Le visage très fin et esquissant un léger sourire est entièrement doré. Les yeux, la barbe, les sourcils, ainsi que la perruque et les ailes sont vert foncé presque noir. Le corps est blanc, les pattes brun rouge. Sous la base un trou de fixation laisse supposer que l'objet était fixé sur un reliquaire, un coffre funéraire, ou un cercueil." (Affholder-Gérard et Cornic, 1990) ; Cette statuette consiste d'une simple figure d'oiseau à tête d'homme coiffé d'une perruque tripartite et d'un visage doré. L'ensemble a été taillé dans une seule pièce de bois. Un percement de 0.7 cm de diamètre est visible sous la base. Il servait vraisemblablement à fixer cette statuette sur un socle ou autre objet. La surface picturale originale, actuellement visible, est appliquée sur une couche de préparation blanche. Le plumage de l'oiseau est peint en bleu avec un corps ocre jaune des pattes ocre rouge. Le visage orné de feuille d'or avec des traits finement tracés en noir et une perruque bleue. Le dessus du socle est peint en ocre jaune avec les côtés bleu.
