Description
Bronze, épaisse patine claire ; Oiseau sur base ajourée. Les deux pattes ressemblent au bas d'une statuette humaine, avec les fesses modelées, sur quoi, avec l'interprétation d'un appendice horizontal, a été collé le corps, légèrement recreusé en-dessous, terminé en queue d'aronde (les angles sont déformés). Le long cou se prolonge sans rupture par une tête non détaillée, au bec très long. L'oiseau est soudé un peu en biais sur la base rectangulaire, qui est divisée en zones rectangulaires, encadrées en-dessous de lignes en relief, et ajourées, sauf au centre, d'évidements rectangulaires et triangulaires. Cette statuette est un bel exemple d'ex-voto qu'on rencontre, dans la seconde moitié du VIIIe siècle, dans la plupart des sanctuaires grecs. Elle doit, tout comme les DG 76-650 et DG 76-652, provenir d'Olympie. Mise à part la transformation des pattes en jambes humaines, fantaisie ou distraction du modeleur, cet oiseau est la réplique d'un type qu'on connaît en Laconie et à Olympie, et qui a donc toutes chances d'être laconien. Nous sommes au ' géométrique récent ', aux alentours du 3e quart du VIIIe siècle.
