Mules féminines

Description

Chacune de ces mules présente une semelle en cuir qui vient se fixer sur une structure rigide en textile et en bois. Les quartiers et l’embout sont en coton rouge et décorés de broderies en forme de crabe, écrevisses, lotus, canards, fruits et nœuds infinis. Ces motifs sont agrémentés de perles et de brillants. Il s’agit peut-être de chaussures de mariage, la couleur rouge auspicieuse étant étroitement associée à cet évènement dans les cultures des pays sinisés. Des rubans noirs attachés au quartier devaient venir s’enrouler autour de la cheville pour rendre le port de ces mules plus confortable.
