Description
Haute stèle rectangulaire à niche cintrée à bordure finement moulurée et partie sommitale à décor de coquille. Deux larges palmettes symétriques sont sculptées dans les écoinçons, dont le feuillage se rejoint au centre du fronton. Le défunt est représenté de face, à mi-corps. En tant que vétéran, il ne porte pas le costume militaire, mais est enveloppé dans une ample toge qui dessine un réseau de plis complexes sur la poitrine et forme deux drapés couvrant largement les bras et les épaules. Le bras gauche est plié pour soutenir le plissé de la toge ; seule la main tenant un rouleau vertical en émerge. La main droite repliée sur la poitrine retient l'un des plis verticaux du vêtement. Le visage est sculpté en haut-relief et présente un aspect bien individualisé, malgré les nombreuses blessures de la pierre. La chevelure, traitée en petites mèches régulières, dégage largement les oreilles. L'inscription occupe la moitié inférieure du monument. Le cartouche est de forme presque carrée et encadré d'une bordure à double moulure. Sept lignes de texte sont soigneusement gravées, certaines lettres débordant même du cadre imparti à l'inscription.
