Description
Monument funéraire du cavalier Comnisca. Un cavalier au combat est représenté dans une niche bordée de colonnettes à chapiteaux corinthiens. Le fronton triangulaire est orné d'une rose à quatre pétales et est flanquée de deux acrotères en forme de lion couché (celui de gauche manque). Le cavalier, équipé d'une épée, brandit une lance de la main droite ; de la gauche, il tient les rênes de son cheval au harnachement à décor de phalères circulaires. Derrière lui, un valet d'armes est debout, tenant des lances de la main droite. Un adversaire, renversé sur le dos, est piétiné sous les antérieurs du cheval. L'inscription se déploie sur sept lignes, dans un cartouche presque carré, bordé d'une moulure. La partie inférieure est lisse, avec une base à encastrement légèrement oblique.
