Au premier plan, on voit dansant sur une mer houleuse un bateau de pêche, voiles rentrées. Les marins au repos, se laissant aller au gré des flots. A gauche plus en arrière, on aperçoit un autre bateau les voiles sorties. On voit à l'horizon une tache sombre, le ciel étant un ciel de tempête. Des mouettes volent rasant les vagues.
