Lettre écrite par Alexandre Dumas père à son avoué, Monsieur Morin à l'occasion du mariage de sa fille Marie Alexandrine le 6 mai 1856. Les témoins du mariage seront Victor Hugo auquel Marie écrit alors qu'il est en exil (Louis Boulanger signera à sa place) et L'autre témoin est Lamartine. Cette lettre fait référence au contrat de mariage signé le 4 mai 1856 devant Maitre Emile Fould. Dumas fait noter dans le contrat un bijou d'une valeur de 5 000 f qu'il dit dans la présente lettre avoir acheté 9 000 f, il le surnomme le 'bijou de Monte-Cristo', ainsi que 3 000 f de meubles et 2 000 f de trousseau. La dot de 120 000 f ne sera jamais payée.
