Description
Scène représentant, au premier plan, deux jeunes femmes vues à mi-corps. Elles sont toutes deux vêtues d'une chemise blanche, d'un caraco blanc à encolure en dentelle et d'un manteau noir. Elles portent une coiffe blanche sur un chignon entouré d'un long ruban noir bordé de dentelle noire, tombant sur les épaules. Le jeune femme au centre, vue de trois-quarts gauche, est parée de boucles d'oreilles dormeuses dorées, d'une croix dévote ou jeannette accrochée autour du cou par un ruban de velours noir, d'un long collier doré (sautoir) serré par une broche également dorée au niveau de la poitrine et d'une bague en or et grenat. Elle tient une rose dans sa main gauche. L'autre femme, à droite, vue de trois-quarts droit, porte des boucles d'oreilles dormeuses, un médaillon ovale en or et camée bleu maintenu par un ruban de velours noir, une broche ovale, elle aussi en or et camée bleu, fermant le caraco, ainsi qu'une bague en or ornée d'une pierre bleue rectangulaire. À l'arrière-plan, un paysage de sous-bois se dessine, avec un chemin montant vers la gauche en direction de collines dont on aperçoit la silhouette dans des tons bleus.
