Description
Technique mixte (papier peint à imprimer à partir d'un fichier haute définition fourni par l'artiste ; sept huiles sur panneau) ; Zhu Hong s'intéresse aux musées occidentaux et aux œuvres qu'ils conservent, les (re)mettant en scène par des dispositifs poétiques et distanciés. Elle a été invitée en résidence par le musée des Beaux-Arts de Dijon. "Le Salon" marque une évolution dans sa pratique. Alors qu'elle était restée, jusqu'ici, dans un domaine à deux dimensions (peintures ou dessins), elle conçoit une installation d'un type tout à fait nouveau pour elle. L'artiste a d'abord réalisé une trentaine de dessins d'après le Salon Gaulin, pièce remarquable du musée des Beaux-Arts de Dijon. Scannés, imprimés sur des lés de papier peint et assemblés selon une perspective déformée, les dessins donnent une nouvelle profondeur à cet espace. L'artiste a accroché sept tableaux qu'elle a peints, réinterprétation des sept tableaux accrochés dans le Salon Gaulin. Elle semble s'attacher à la réalité puisqu'elle imite les reflets de lumière sur les toiles, mais elle ajoute des taches d'atelier, qui n'ont jamais existé sur les originaux. Le Salon se trouve ainsi à la convergence des intérêts de ZHU Hong : regard porté sur les musées, citations d'œuvres, transcriptions poétiques d'une certaine réalité silencieuse, contraste entre dessin et peinture, papier et bois, intérieur et extérieur. A ce titre, il nous a semblé une œuvre ambitieuse qui avait toute sa place parmi les collections du musée.
