Il s'agit d'une oeuvre en toile (peinture à l'huile). La pièce a pour dimensions H. 65,5 cm ; l. 81,5 cm ; E. 2,5 cm (sans cadre) ; H. 80 cm ; l. 93 cm (avec cadre). Le sujet représenté est : vue d'architecture (architecture industrielle, usine, atelier, cheminée, fumée),fond de paysage (Le Creusot). Cette réalisation date de la 1er quart 20e siècle. À propos de cette pièce : 1878 ; 1951 ; Louis Charlot est né à Cussy-en-Morvan. Elève de lécole des Beaux-arts de Paris en 1899, il découvre Uchon où il sinstalle à partir de 1905. Pendant la guerre de 1914-1918, il est réformé en raison dune infirmité au bras gauche. En 1914, il est chargé de mission pour réaliser des dessins et des peintures patriotiques. Après-guerre, il reprend ses thèmes favoris : paysages ruraux, paysans, et réalise sur commande de nombreux portraits. Il fait la rencontre de Raymond Rochette en 1933 dans son atelier dUchon. Le peintre professionnel reconnu conseille le jeune débutant et lui montre cette vue du Creusot : une grisaille où les panaches de fumée sopposent aux arêtes géométriques des ateliers.
