Description
Cette œuvre renvoie à une série de sculptures autour de l’oiseau. Thème cher à de nombreux sculpteurs, l’envol fascine par le phénomène de mouvement, d’espace et de légèreté, trois dimensions en jeu au cœur du processus créatif en sculpture. L’esprit du mouvement gracile tente d’être subtilement restitué dans une forme pleine que Stahly commence alors à aborder dans son horizontalité à partir de 1952-1953. Cette sculpture témoigne de l’entente entre Denys Chevalier et le sculpteur, qui expose chaque année à la Jeune Sculpture depuis sa création en 1949, jusqu’en 1968. Il est membre du comité directeur entre 1951 et 1959.
