Description
Scène représentant un groupe de personnages dominé par une croix monumentale, reposant sur un haut socle. Au pied de la croix se détache un groupe de deux figures en prière : une femme et un homme au dos nu. De part et d’autre, d’autres personnages, debout ou agenouillés, sont également en prière, le regard tourné vers la croix. À gauche, on distingue un évêque coiffé de sa mitre et tenant une crosse dorée, derrière lequel se tient un soldat. À droite de la composition, derrière l’homme au dos dénudé, se trouve également un soldat casqué, agenouillé, tenant une pique. Enfin, au premier plan à gauche, une femme agenouillée, vêtue de rouge, tient une couronne dorée. La scène s’inscrit dans un cadre intérieur peint, de format cintré à oreilles, dans lequel apparaissent trois têtes d’anges ailées émergeant de nuées jaunes.
