Description
Argile peinte. Sur le rebord, file d'oves. le décor figuré est délimité en haut par des languettes, en bas par une zone de courtes lignes brisées couchées ; à l'attache des anses, doubles palmettes opposées par la base. Décor en figures rouges : deux scènes différentes occupent, semble-t-il, chacune des deux faces ; elles sont séparées par l'espace des anses où prennent place, au-dessus des anses, un Eros volant, au-dessous, un autel à volutes. A - ENLEVEMENT D'AIGINA PAR ZEUS. Au centre Zeus, un long sceptre à la main, saisit par l'épaule Aigina, qui tente de s'enfuir tout en retournant la tête vers lui ; une suivante s'enfuit vers la gauche, tout en retournant aussi la tête. B - ELEVEMENT DE CEPHALE PAR EOS. La déesse de l'aurore, reconnaissable à ses ailes, poursuit le jeune Céphale, en tenue de chasseur, deux lances à la main ; à gauche un jeune garçon s'enfuit en retournant la tête. Au-dessus des personnages de la face A est plusieurs fois répétée l'exclamation kalos ou ho kalos ('le beau garçon').
