Cuve baptismale
Description
Cette petite cuve est décorée sur quatre côtés et n'était pas adossée à une paroi. On distingue quatre figures humaines : trois sont des masques de faible relief avec une morphologie grossièrement figurée, l'un des trois est bûché. La quatrième figure représente un personnage debout, s'élevant au dessus d'un demi-cercle en relief, les bras dressés comme un orant. C'est cette dernière figure originale pour des fonts baptismaux qui suggère une date assez haute dans le Moyen Âge. Le thème des masques humains, souvent beaucoup plus en relief, est très courant et se retrouve dans de nombreuses cuves recensées en Bourgogne. Dans ce cas où la provenance originelle (église ou abbatiale) est inconnue, il est difficile de mieux cerner des rapprochements dans les régions Bourgogne, Franche-Comté ou autres.
