Description
Etude pour trois lancettes et tympan ; Dessin d'une baie en arc brisé à trois lancettes, et sept ajours au tympan. Des motifs ornementaux, floraux, ornent l'ajour sommital et les trois ajours de droite. Ceux de gauche sont restés vides, le décor prévu pour orner ces ajours symétriques étant très certainement le même. Dans le registre inférieur se déploie, sur trois lancettes, une Crucifixion. Première lancette : Marie, la mère de Jésus, se tient debout à côté de la croix d'un larron. Deuxième lancette : Marie Madeleine se tient agenouillée au pied de la croix du Christ dont la tête porte le nimbe crucifère. Elle entoure de ses bras la croix et les jambes de Jésus. À ses côtés se trouve un vase à parfum. En arrière plan, on distingue trois soldats romains agenouillés, formant un cercle (et jouant aux dés la tunique de Jésus ?). Un décor architectural orne le fond de cette lancette. Troisième lancette : saint Jean se tient à côté de la croix du deuxième larron. La scène de la Crucifixion est esquissée, mais aussi assez effacée, ce qui en rend la lecture un peu difficile. Les dais gothiques sous lesquels se trouvent les personnages sont beaucoup plus détaillés, et le crayon est plus appuyé.
