Description
Porcelaine dure de type famille rose. Décors à l'oxyde de cobalt sous couverte ; décors de dorures et d'émaux opaques et semi-opaques sur couverte. ; Couvercle de la coupe N° 2984.1 avec un décor de petites fleurs, bordure bleue, bouton de prise avec le dessus doré. ; Les ateliers chinois de Jingdezhen imitaient les pièces en argenterie ou en porcelaine des manufactures occidentales. Leurs productions étaient alors décorées à Canton par des artisans spécialisés avant d’être expédiés dans le reste du monde par bateau par les grandes compagnies marchandes. Ici, les motifs de papillons dessinés à l’émail font écho aux mêmes insectes moulés sur le pot et le couvercle. Les décorateurs chinois, ingénieux, ont utilisé la technique ancienne du décor à l’oxyde de cobalt sous couverte, apparue en Chine dès le XIVe siècle, pour imiter les peignés bleu de Sèvres au niveau des anses et des rebords du pot et du couvercle.
