Description
La pêche à la ligne est un loisir apprécié par les Familistériens depuis le XIXe siècle. Le concours organisé en 1913 le jour de la fête nationale a lieu en aval du pont du Familistère. Les concurrents – hommes, femmes et enfants –, que des numéros identifient, sont alignés sur la rive gauche de l’Oise. Sur la berge, devant l’aile gauche du Palais social, un nombreux public endimanché les observe. De l’autre côté de la rivière, sur la rive aménagée devant le jeu de tir à l’arc, sont postés d’autres pêcheurs, qui suscitent eux aussi la curiosité. Sur la droite de la photographie, du linge sèche sur les étendoirs à proximité de la buanderie du Familistère. La photographie du concours de pêche est collée en plein sur un carton au revers duquel est montée une autre photographie représentant trois personnages assis sur des rochers. La légende nomme le lieu de la prise de vue (Acy-en-Multien, dans l’Oise, au sud de Crépy en Valois) et date le cliché d’août 1913.
