Description
Le Colonel Chabert en pied avec un grand manteau ; il tient son chapeau dans les mains devant lui. La pâte est ocre rouge, fine et homogène, similaire à celle utilisée pour la statuette Le cousin Pons (BZ.2017.5.16). Elle a été obtenue par modelage. Des traces de gradines sont observées sous la base, qui a été évidée. Le détecteur de métaux a signalé la présence d'armatures métalliques. Elle est patinée ocre rouge. Cette patine est constituée d'une couche rouge aqueuse, recouverte d'une cire teintée ocre rouge. Une peinture grise, non aqueuse est ensuite passée dans les creux, probablement pour accentuer les reliefs. La statuette apparaît donc avec deux couleurs.
