Cithare sur bâton "dunde"
Description
Présentation générale : Cithare sur bâton monocorde composée d'une longue et fine pièce de bois sous laquelle est fixé un résonateur hémisphérique en coque de noix de coco. A son extrémité supérieure et sur environ un tiers de sa longueur, ce "bâton" forme la touche de l'instrument. Il est surmonté d'une représentation stylisée d'un visage humain. A la hauteur du cou, est insérée une cheville autour de laquelle est enroulée une corde de nylon torsadée, attachée sur une petite protubérance à l'autre extrémité recourbée du "bâton". Le résonateur est fixé au "bâton" à l'aide d'un clou en bois à large tête situé sur la face intérieure de la paroi, au point de contact avec le dos de la touche. L'instrument est tenu obliquement devant la poitrine, le résonateur appliqué contre le thorax. Les doigts de la main gauche viennent se poser sur la touche tandis que l'index de la main droite pince la corde. Le timbre de l'instrument est altéré en éloignant légèrement le résonateur de la poitrine. Le principe acoustique est identique à celui de l'arc musical muni d'un résonateur utilisé en Afrique ou au Brésil.
