Description

Chat assis inspiré des statues représentant la déesse égyptienne Bastet. Déesse de la joie, protectrice de la maternité et de l'humanité, Bastet est également associé à la guerre et à la vengeance du Dieu Soleil Râ. Théodore Deck s'est peut-être inspiré de la statuette de Bastet achetée par l'Etat et inscrit à l'inventaire du musée du Louvre en 1852 (n° d'inventaire : E 2533). La glaçure est bleu turquoise, couleur également connue sous le nom de "bleu Deck".
