Description

Brûle-parfum à panse ovoïde, fine frise, deux anses flammées, couvercle ajouré surmonté d'un chien de face ; trois pieds (description Lansyer) Brûle-parfum + couvercle Ce brûle-parfum tripode en bronze patiné adopte la forme d’un vase couvert de forme arrondie. Les pieds prennent la forme de trois petites excroissances arrondies. L’épaule du vase est décorée d’une frise de chrysanthèmes en bas-relief et deux anses en forme de têtes de lions en ronde-bosse sont disposées symétriquement de chaque côté. Le couvercle ajouré est surmonté d’un lion bouddhique en ronde-bosse dressé sur ses quatre pattes, la gueule ouverte. Le lion bouddhique est un animal mythologique souvent représenté en paire sculptée à l’entrée des temples ou des palais en Asie du Nord- est. Ces animaux gardiens viennent fréquemment décorer les couvercles des brûle-parfums en bronze de production chinoise ou japonaise.
