Description
Sculpture sur calcaire gris tendre. (Guillot-Deflandre) Fragment d'un cippe représentant sur une des faces dans une niche concave, un homme debout vêtu d'une tunique courte à manches longues, attachée à la ceinture. Par dessus, il porte un manteau à manches courtes, tombant dans le dos en arc de cercle ondulé. Sur son ventre sont posés trois objets allongés recouverts par ses mains. A sa droite un grand buffet en perspective montante est orné, sur le petit côté, d'une patère. Au sol repose un panier d'osier, et une sorte de portefeuille. En retour, à droite, nous observons sur un piédestal, un vase tripode dont le couvercle en pyramide est constitué de feuilles imbriquées. Deux mains apparaissent à droite en tenant peut-être un vase. Le reste a été retaillé. Le personnage en pied est représenté avec une forte musculature des jambes. Le reste du corps est recouvert de draps aux plis parfois profonds mais souples. Le sujet est rendu par une perspective montante nuancée par différents degrés de relief qui varient entre le méplat et le bas-relief. Les brettelures de la gradine sont visibles sur toute l'oeuvre.
