Description
Cette allégorie prend place devant le temple de Janus. Deux figures féminines allégoriques se tiennent devant le temple au centre de la composition. Celle qui vole (la Paix) guide la main de l'autre pour brûler des symboles de la guerre, tandis qu'elle se retourne vers le temple, Sur la droite une figure de l'Abondance distribue des fruits à une femme assise au sol trois enfants, un coffre à ses côtés rempli de manuscrits laisse penser qu'il s'agirait d'une allégorie des arts ou de la littérature. Sur la gauche un groupe d'amours célèbre la paix autour d'un pilier hermaïque. Ils dansent, jouent de la musique et déposent des offrandes. Un navire est visible à l'arrière du pilier.
