Description
Masque en bois au front bombé en forme de calotte se terminant par 2 cornes tournées vers l’avant. Nez énorme, triangulaire entre des yeux de forme dissemblable. Bouche très large, ouverte, avec de part et d’autre une corne tournée vers le bas. Les joues sont figurées par des tubes percés et 2 cornes tournées vers l’avant. Tout autour, face interne, le rebord du masque est percé de trous. Sur la tête, un crochet en fer et une bande de coton blanc repliée fixée par des points en fer. Au-milieu du front, des duvets (poulet blanc). Le rebord du front dispose d’une rangée de clous de laiton. Une partie des attributs du masque, et surtout le nez, est recouvert d’un enduit ocre clair et ocre foncé.Le rebord du nez est orné d’une rangée de clous de laiton. La bouche est surmontée de peinture bleue voyant. Les lèves sont bordées d’une fourrure de mammifère. L’ouverture de la bouche est marquée par un tissu de coton rouge vif fixé par des clous en fer et par 3 bandes de métal figurant les dents. Sous le menton, un ensemble de fibres végétales gainées d’un coton formant barbe et associées à des bandes de peau animales. (J.Rivallain, 1992)
