Description
Cette statuette en bois stuqué recouvert de résine noire, dite oiseau "âkhem" (en écriture hiéroglyphique, "l'âkhem" est un faucon qui désigne la statue du culte divin), représente un faucon momifié regardant droit devant, la tête haute. Il est la personnification de l'antique dieu de la nécropole de Memphis : Sokar. En fixant ces éléments rapportés sur les socles de statuettes de Ptah-Sokar-Osiris, sur les boîtes à ouchebtis ou encore sur les sarcophages à piliers d'angles, les Egyptiens espéraient se joindre à la renaissance de Sokar. Cette hypothèse est renforcée par la présence d'une mortaise sous le socle, contenant encore un tenon brisé à l'intérieur.
