Description
Casque britannique Mark I, couleur marron/vert en un seul bloc. Peinture extérieure granité (mélangée avec du sable afin d'éviter les reflets). L'intérieur du casque est constitué d'une bande de toile cirée noire maintenue à une bande de cuir sectionnée à intervalle régulier où sont placés toutes les deux fentes 12 petits tubes en caoutchouc. Il y a de plus un rembourrage circulaire en toile doublée d'ouate, sur lequel est cousu un filet brun, parcouru par un lacet de serrage. Ces dispositifs permettaient de répartir le poids du casque et les chocs sur la tête. Le fond du casque est confectionné de plusieurs épaisseurs de coton ouaté, d'amiante et de feutre. Le tout est maintenu en son centre par le point de fixation et sur les côtés à l'aide d'une bande de cuir possédant à chacune de ses extrémités une boucle en laiton rectangulaire pour la fixation de la jugulaire (réglable avec une boucle ardillon dorée). Les deux rivets de fixation des passants de jugulaire sont fendus, ce qui est caractéristique du casque Mark I (contrairement au casque américain). Le casque est bordé d'un jonc dont la jointure se chevauche, et est renforcée d'un point de soudure.
