Description
Globe constitué de 2 hémisphères en bois recouverts de plâtre et carton présenté sur socle tripode à pieds cambrés et ceint d'une table d'horizon maintenue par quatre jambes ; le globe est recouvert d'une cartographie gravée sur papier vergé, divisée en 24 demi-fuseaux et deux calottes terrestres ; 2 attaches à l'extrémité d'un axe interne, sortent du globe aux pôles nord et sud et assurent la fixation du méridien en laiton gravé et d'un demi-cercle plus fin également en laiton ; le méridien est inséré dans deux fentes aménagées dans la table d'horizon et maintenu par une attache métallique au centre du piètement ; 'Bois, plâtre peint sur coques carton, bronze' (André Martineau, 1948)
