Description
Au centre de la niche de ce tapis figure un cyprès dont la base prend la forme d’un aigle bicéphale. On retrouve cet arbre de vie de part et d’autre de la niche, et ornant à cinq reprises la planche. Dans le champ de la niche se trouvent deux couples de paons affrontés dont un faisant la roue, d’autres espèces d’oiseaux et des félins. Le pourtour externe de la niche est encadré d’un motif s’inspirant de l’écriture coufique. La bordure principale présente diverses espèces animalières telles que des lions et des cervidés, mais aussi des êtres fantastiques comme l’aigle bicéphale, la végétation est également variée (vases de fleurs, branches fleuries, cyprès). Les bordures secondaires sont ornées d’un méandre trapézoïdal d’où partent des motifs en forme de “Y” . Les coloris sont à dominante pastel, toutefois, on note la couleur orangé du champ plus soutenue, et l’utilisation du vert pour la végétation, ce qui reste assez exceptionnel dans les tapis d’orient, du fait que cette couleur symbolise l’Islam, le Prophète et le paradis musulman. Noué main, laine, nœud asymétrique (senneh).
