Pistolet d'officier de gendarmerie modèle 1836 à percussion sur capsules fabriqué par la manufacture impériale de Châtellerault en 1860. Canon en fer poli blanc, à pans au tonnerre puis rond. Il est rayé de trente-six rayures ' en cheveux ' tournées de gauche à droite. Il est marqué sur le pan supérieur gauche ' C L ' dans un double cercle, ' L ' dans un cercle, sur le pan latéral gauche ' C ' dans un cercle, sur le pan supérieur droit ' 1860 ' et sur le pan latéral droit ' MI '. Platine à percussion sur capsules de type ' arrière ', de forme ronde ' à la Pontcharra ', gravée ' Mre Impale de / Châtellerault ', poinçon ' P ' dans un écu. Monture en noyer à fût court dégageant le canon, crosse pentée, poinçonnée sur le côté droit de la poignée ' 32 ' (ancien inventaire GIAT ', ' 9 ', ' M ' couronné devant la platine, ' H ' étoilé à l'arrière de la queue de culasse, ' M ' couronné devant la pièce de contre-platine ' rosette à aile unique), ' FL ' ou ' JL ' entrelacées à l'arrière de la rosette à aile unique.
