Pistolet de marine à percussion sur capsules modèle 1843 fabriqué à la manufacture royale de Châtellerault en 1845. canon en fer poli blanc, à pans au tonnerre puis rond, grain d'orge en fer. Le pan supérieur gauche est poinçonné ' D ' entre deux étoiles, ' G ' entre deux étoiles, sur le méplat gauche ' 6 ' et ' E ', sous le canon ' E ', sur le pan supérieur droit ' 1845 ' et poinçon ' F ' surmonté d'une étoile, le méplat droit ' MR ', poinçon ' F ' étoilé et ' D ' étoilé dans un ovale. Queue de culasse marquée du millésime ' Mle 1843 '. Platine à percussion sur capsules de type ' arrière ', gravée ' Mre Rle de Chatellerault ' et poinçon ' D ' étoilé dans un losange. Monture en noyer à fût court, insculpée ' 49 ' sur le côté droit de la poignée (ancien inventaire GIAT), deux petits trous sont présents à l'emplacement d'une étiquette maintenant absente. Poinçons de contrôleur sur le fût ' H ' couronné, ' A ' couronné derrière la queue de culasse, ' CB ' au-dessus de la contre-platine, ' D ' couronné derrière cette contre-platine et ' D ' étoilé vers la calotte. Garnitures en laiton, embouchoir (ou capucine) à bride inférieure, pontet et calotte poinçonnés d'un ' G ' dans un cercle et ' D ' dans un losange.
